The result of the performance of fighters from Russia: two second places in two disciplines for Arsenii Peshekhonov (Moscow, Kyokushin Union, coach Sensei Tatiana Kartashova) and third place for Rafael Avakian (Anapa, Kyokushin Union, coach Sensei Arthur Li).

Teams from five countries took part in the tournament: Iran, Iraq, Lebanon, Pakistan and Russia.

Russia was represented by fighters of the “Open Kyokushin Alliance”, from the federations: “Kyokushin Union” and “Kyokushin Profi”.

The Federation International Union “Kyokushin Profi” was represented by 2 fighters from the Amur Region (Russia).

The tournament was organized and conducted at a high level, under the leadership of Shihan Mehdi Farahani, the Iranian representative of WKO (World Kumite Organization) with the assistance of the Ministry of Sports of the Islamic Republic of Iran. WKO President Kancho Robert McInnes (Thailand) acted as the Chief Judge of the Tournament.

For Russian athletes, the main task for this tournament was combat acquaintance, first of all, with the Iranian school – one of the main competitors at the upcoming World Cup among men and women in Osaka (November, 2024).

The Russian delegation, consisting of fighters: R. Khasanov, R. Akhmedov, L. Goropashnui, V. Veliev, R. Avakian, D. Iurkov, A. Peshekhonov, was headed by Shihan Anatolii Fesenko and Shihan Aleksandr Kramyshev.

Russian Shihans took part in the working meeting of WKO. When considering the decision to form a new refereeing committee for the World Cup, the candidacy of Shihan Aleksandr Kramyshev was proposed for the committee. In addition, the leadership of the Iranian Federation, following the meeting, expressed its readiness to take part in Russia at the International Cup of Fellowship held by the International Union “Kyokushin Profi” (April 19-21, 2024, Moscow, Russia).
